UPDATE:
With COVID surging in our area, the number of people testing positive and hospitalization rates rising, we have made the difficult decision to shift Creating Hope to a virtual event.
We are working our magic to transform Creating Hope into a virtual event that will ring with vibrancy and optimism, celebrating recent advances in cancer research. We hope you will tune in to the livestream presentation at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 18. Please join us to hear inspiring news about breakthroughs and possibilities for new cancer treatments.
With your help, we will propel cancer research forward at Providence. The raffle and auction will open this Wednesday, May 11. The bidding fun will continue even as we pivot from an in-person to a virtual event.
Our events team will follow up with all registered guests and sponsors in the next few days.

Keynote Speaker - Diane Nathaniel
Diane Nathaniel was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2014. She has turned her experience with cancer into an opportunity to help spread awareness and the importance of cancer screenings. After having cancer, she created and co-founded “Beat Stage 3” with her best and oldest friend Helen Collen. Beat Stage 3 is an image-conscious campaign for cancer fighters and survivors that promotes cancer awareness and the restoration of inner and outer beauty for cancer fighters and survivors.
In addition, Diane is an advocate and volunteer with The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network as an ACT LEAD. A native New Yorker, Diane has addressed members of Congress about the importance of providing affordable quality health care for cancer patients to get screened.
Diane is a school counselor for the New York City Department of Education and CEO of CDN Educational Consulting. She hopes to open a private practice focusing on healing and restoration of families.
