We mourn the death of our friend, supporter and advisor, Gerry Frank. For more than 50 years, Gerry gave his time, money and guidance to Providence. From building a new pavilion or chapel to providing guest housing, Gerry's touch was evident in so many ways here.
While Gerry was involved in numerous community organizations, Providence St. Vincent was always close to his heart. His involvement with the hospital dates back over 50 years to the 1960s. In addition to serving on the Foundation board, Gerry was a member of the hospital’s community board and was a trusted advisor to many hospital administrators
Gerry had a special concern for children, and because of that, Providence launched The Gerry Frank Center for Children’s Care at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The center features a full range of family medical services, including children’s surgeries and procedures. The young patients receiving care there today might not know Gerry Frank personally, but when they look around at the bright rooms, the relaxing, comforting clouds on the ceiling, and hold their "Gerry bears" - they know that someone cared about them a lot. That someone was Gerry Frank.
Gerry was honored as the Providence Child Center Foundation's 2014 Heart of Gold recipient for his profound commitment to the children of Oregon, particularly those with special needs served through Providence.
Providence sends condolences, prayers, warm thoughts and wonderful memories to his family, friends and all those who benefit from his commitment to health care.
